Most Wanted: Jumpsuits

Nothing makes me feel more put together than a jumpsuit.

When in said jumpsuit, I feel flawless; it's just one of those pieces, in my eyes anyway, that sensuously says: "I've got my shit together." Honestly, if I could, I'd probably get away with wearing one every day. Being as curvy as I am, I find a hard time finding clothes that fit just right. If it fits my chest, it sure as hell won't fit my waist. And if it fits my legs, it won't even making it past my butt. But with a jumpsuit? Everything is accentuated in just the right way, giving me the most flattering figure. In a jumpsuit, I can tuck away my insecurities - no need to shave my legs, worry about "whale tails", or feel underdressed. Sure, you might experience some trouble going to the bathroom, but that's a sacrifice you make for an air of confidence that cannot be replicated, even with the highest of heels. You can dress a jumpsuit up or down, pair it with almost any shoe or accessory, without a care. No need to worry about matching your top to your bottom - getting dressed just got that much easier.

I really would like to stock up on a few more of these. So far I own two; one in full Diesel denim, the other, a belted satin black number from Armani Exchange. Paired with a blazer and some booties, I'm ready to face/rule the world. I'll admit, I am partial to the deep-v styles in classic black, but you can always find high necklined varieties to suit your business needs, and patterns to add a punch.

Here are my top picks from a casual browse (mind you, they're not the most realistically priced for my "budget", but a girl can dream):

Trina Turk - Iona Strapless Fitted Sateen Jumpsuit in Black ($434.92)

3.1 Phillip Lim - Draped Colorblock Jumpsuit w/Judo Belt in Ink ($1027.64)

Roland Mouret - Verona Double-Crepe Cutout-Back Jumpsuit in Black ($3275.20)

Jason Wu - Gabardine Tuxedo Jumpsuit in Black ($920.24)

Rachel Zoe - Shiloh Leather-Waist Jersey Jumpsuit in Black ($322.22)

Michael Michael Kors - Chain-Neck Matte-Jersey Jumpsuit in Black/Silver ($80.00)

Michael Kors - Eyelet Silk-Jacquard Bustier Jumpsuit in Suntan/Black ($2295.00)

Betsey Johnson - Tuxedo Jumpsuit in Black ($189.00)

Topshop - Metallic Snakeskin Jumpsuit in Gold ($68.94)

Topshop - Velvet Wrap Front Jumpsuit in Black ($49.02)

Ella Moss - Stella Jumpsuit in Black ($326.21)

d. RA - Anemone Jumpsuit in Navy ($154.25)

Indah - Tenno Fringe Flounce Jumpsuit in White ($104.94)

Alice by Temperley - Alice Jumpsuit in Black ($316.10)

Kimchi Blue - Wide-Leg Bustier Jumpsuit in Black ($29.99)

Halston Heritage - Draped Jumpsuit in Black ($625.87)

Faithfull - Shutterbabe Jumpsuit in Navy ($153.88)

As you can see, I wasn't exaggerating my partiality towards low-cut black "powersuits".

As always, I promised myself I wouldn't spend any money, but what do you know, I had a $10 award on my Guess List card. So I did what any fashionably adventurous girl would do, and invested it in a piece that was classic, but impractical. It came out to just under $45.00 with my discount (tax included), and despite my initial apprehension (it's a little more than I wanted to spend, and my cleavage is um, there), I couldn't be more pleased with my (somewhat impulsive) purchase.

Guess - Sleeveless Deep V-Neck Jumpsuit in Boho Blue ($49.00)

It's incredibly sexy, but in an almost elegant fashion. To be quite honest, it made me feel like a trophy wife. It's just one of those pieces that you keep in the back of your closet for that "what if?" event. And yes, it's blue. See, I CAN accept other colours too! This jewel tone is unexpected and refreshing when head to head against its black compatriot, and I think that's what I appreciate most about it.

Sometimes, you just gotta let go of your inhibitions, and jump right in.

What's a purchase decision you've made, where you chose to eschew a cautionary/realistic approach?

Top 14 Spring/Summer 2014 Trends

A girl that is strapped for cash must be picky with her purchases.  Don't be wasteful with your wallet - show it some wuv. To help, I've searched high and low to compile a list of everything worthy of wearing in the warmer weather. I've rounded up some of the most popular and oft-mentioned trends for the coming SS2014 season, so that any savvy splurging is completely justified, if not encouraged.

Top Trends to Buy For (Or Not to Purge from Your Closet):

Metallics

Metallics will continue to shine this season, making your glitzy holiday-wear/NYE purchases totally worth recycling! The brighter and more colourful, the better. If it looks like a rainbow has had its way with your outfit, +1 to you my friend. A lot of people are opting for classy, coloured couture items, but those of us on the streets know how to work some 90's holographic prints right in there. To this day I regret not purchasing a mini holographic backpack for $5 from a yard sale (instead I spent it on an Eminem CD and a Bart Simpson snow-globe pencil). Personally, I love any excuse to stand-out (fashionably), so this trend is right up my alley.

Pastels

A winter revolutionist and quintessential spring favourite, pastels are continuing their reign over our wardrobes. The key here is to partake in a rendition of Carl Jung's "Law of Opposites". Pair your subtle pastels with bolder, contrasting shades for maximum impact. To make it easier, keep it monochrome, just in varying shades/intensities. If you're feeling adventurous, try pairing a fun fuchsia piece with a subdued baby blue, or sweet mint green with a vibrant tangerine!

Cropped

Don't crop crop tops out of your closet just yet; with a steady stream of high-waisted bottoms, ready and willing, crop tops are here to stay another season. When I'm feeling brave, the midriff baring is a go. If you're a little shy or tummy conscious, just pair it with a high-waisted pencil or full skirt to close the gap. Keep your bottoms to balance everything out. High-waisted jeans, a crop top, and a moto jacket or blazer always make for a great outfit, and some high-waisted jeans can work shapewear-esque miracles. The other day I had fun pairing my cropped, striped oversized tee with a flowing double slit maxi-skirt in a similar shade. Just keep your proportions in check and you're golden!

Florals

Another spring favourite, florals, are back once again. No surprise there, though. The best way to add some modern flair to this trend is by scoping out pieces that feature texture and embellishments within the pattern. Like flowers covered in sequins or beads for that extra pop.

Athletics

Sportier looks are back on the runway, and with neoprene dresses well behind us, designers seems to be adding comfy-cozy sporty elements into their collections. Just picture shiny fabrics juxtaposed with fellow kooky colours reminiscent of a 90's workout video, but on a more luxurious scale. The trick here is to not put on too many sporty pieces, as you run the risk of becoming an overdressed athlete. Aim for more of a "girl who knows how to balance comfort and class" kind of look - "luxe" jogging pants with a more modest, but still structured, top would do the trick.

Sheer

Dare to bare in this showstopping trend. Now don't think you need to go full-frontal here, a little flash of something underneath here or there (ankles count!) behind a mesh panel can turn up the heat on any outfit. Want to make it even more conservative? Try layering an opaque tank top under a sheer chiffon dress shirt (under a blazer) for a more family appropriate look!

Full Skirts

You don't need to go as far back as the 50's to see that tea skirts are back in full swing. These comfortable, flowy, "I must twirl around endlessly" skirts have been popping up all over the runways - and for good reason! They're a great alternative to the double slit maxis we've been pretty fond of. So get your tea party on, and try to keep things sweet and playful for the ulti-MiuMiu outfit!

White Oxford-Inspired Shirts

Ok so it's not like basic, crisp white shirts haven't been considered one of the foundation pieces of any woman's closet. But these specific reincarnations are basically taking it to the next level. Cropped, unstructured, embellished, ruffles galore, you name it, they did it this year. Although not the most practical basic, these new oxford-inspired tops could really bump up your boring, go-to work outfit into something a little more trendy for "casual Fridays". It's still following the dress code if it fulfills the requirements if it's described as "white, collared, and starch-straight", right?

Boxy

I think this trend really speaks for itself. Well-structured sleeves and torsos to give the appearance that the wearer is secretly a box in disguise is pretty much the look you're going for. It may be a little risky for those not confident enough with their already broad shoulders, or rectangular torso. As J.R.R. Tolkien once wrote "A box without hinges, key, or lid, yet golden treasure inside is hid." Release the booty.

Pleats

Ok so schoolgirl skirts is a step in the right direction, tennis dresses even more so. What we're really coveting here are some skinny pleats, the barely there pleats that make you say "those aren't pleats? No, little elves broke into my closet last night and tried to expertly organize it by efficiently folding and my clothes to fit into the smallest space possible, but I guess it just didn't work out. Micro pleats is the name, and monochromatic/basic tops is the game. Have fun, but don't get lost in the folds.

Pop-Art Inspired

This trend is all about looking like a walking museum. The bolder and more indecipherable the image, the better. Prada, Warhol, and Pollock can provide all of the inspiration you need. Be careful with investing in this trend - too bold or too kooky could be a problem for those of you who don't want the eye-spotlight. Dress at your own risk.

Big Words (And I don't mean words like: circumlocution)

The more obnoxious the name and logo, the better. Be it a brand, emotion, or literally just the most random word possible, wear it loud and proud. If you look like a walking advertisement, you're doing it right.

Wide-Leg Pants

This trend has three extremes. There's the boot-cut-ish trouser that you wear to hide the fact that you're wearing heels from three season ago, the palazzo pant extreme because you want to indulge in your faux-euro roots, and the gaucho extreme that is literally so extreme that it was named after one of the most uncomfortably enunciated words I've ever had the displeasure of saying. I'm loving the palazzo pant trend simply because self-conscious women can a pretty great way to get away with not shaving on a hot summer's day.

Fringe

I'm not really sure if fringe is ever really going to be out-of-style, per se. I think Free People, Coachella, as well as the state of California, will keep it rolling strong for years to come. Still, if western-wear isn't your thing, look for pieces that embellish with a touch of skinny, fluffy, silky fringe, instead of the thicker, wider, stiffer strands commonly created with suede or leather pieces. You could also consider delicate, fringed jewelry, which isn't too hard to come by. Or you could always just accessorise with a not-so-delicate leather whip, your choice.

Here's my newest addition, to make up for my shoe closet's lack of colourful, metallic options:

Urban Outfitters - Sale $19
For under $20, this was a very savvy expenditure. I love the comfort of a flat, but the flair of the holographic material, the fact that they're much cheaper than they actually look, as well as the pointy-toed primness of this particular pair - swoon. Can't wait to wear these when the snow melts!

What trends are you looking to invest in?

Most Wanted: American Apparel

This past holiday season, my family and I took advantage of an amazing Groupon for American Apparel. You could either pay $20 and get $40 in store credit, or pay $40 and get $80 in store credit.

Obviously, I pounced on the $40 deal. And my family was kind enough to purchase a second Groupon for the absolutely necessary expansion of my closet (just did a HUGE purge... rather not discuss it, too depressing).

But what to get?

I'm kind of in-between sizes at the moment (10 lbs-ish away from fitting perfectly into all of my clothes - damn you five holiday dinners in a row), and so I'm a bit hesitant when it comes to purchasing anything that's going to attempt to keep my "rolls" in check. I tried on a few things, but none of them fit like I'd hoped.

The long coveted Disco Pants that supposedly work miracles on everyone else, looked awkward on me; the pockets sat too high. The Riding Pant was my next go-to, but even it disappointed me by being too long. I know I could've hemmed them, but the construction of the pants would've given me away. Finally, after over an hour of deliberating, I settled on a pair of super comfy and stretchy Dark Wash Indigo Easy Jeans, which made for a perf buttox. With my second Groupon, I purchased two bodysuits - The Nylon Tricot Micro-Mesh Gloria-V Bodysuit in Black that I've been fawning over for more than 3 years, as well as The Fiona Bodysuit in Black.

Ok, so I wasn't expecting to get two bodysuits, let alone two items in the one colour that has completely overrun my winter wardrobe, and I wasn't expecting to put any extra money down on top of the Groupons, but let me tell you - it was worth it. With my curvy proportions, I often find it difficult to find bodysuits (or really any type of clothing) that accommodate my... assets. And so, to find something that not only fit me, but also provided enough lift (Enough to go braless! Eek!), and that wouldn't effectively put my nips on display?

Jackpot, baby. Give me every colour you got!

Still, there were a few other items I considered getting, but that just didn't pan out.

The Wide Leg Pleated Chiffon Pant Preferably in Magenta. I mean, it's a Radiant Orchid-esque, sheer, pleated, wide-leg pant! SO ON TREND IT HURTS. They're actually ethereally gorgeous in person.

The Cotton Spandex Sleeveless Thong Bodysuit in Red. Unfortunately, the only ones they had left in my size had broken or missing crotch snaps. Boo hoo.

The Petite Unisex Long Wool Coat in either Deep Sapphire/Peanut, Oxford, Sunset, or Menthe. I am so in love with this coat it isn't even funny. It looks so warm and cozy, and the colours just take it up enough notches to be a closet staple. I wish I wasn't so broke at the moment, or I would've been all over this one. Still looking for a nice wool coat to carry me through the cold and semi-cold seasons.

The Hologram Leather Circle Skirt in Silver Foil Lambskin. I can't even verbalize my love for this. I am so tempted to just buy the materials and pay my sister to make one. However, circle skirts are rarely flattering on me. So in this case, I think it's best if I just admire from afar...

The Ponte Gloria V Skater Dress in Black, Syrah, or Lapis. The pictures really don't do this dress justice. Just like its bodysuit better-half, this dress suited me like none other. Unfortunately, due to a very open back, I found I had to keep adjusting the sleeves to ensure that I wouldn't be exposed at any given time. I figured fixing the sleeves every 1-5 mins would be bothersome, and a friend's admittance of purchase regret confirmed this. In the end, I put this one down, and slowly (sadly) walked away.

Cotton Spandex Jersey Gloria-V Bodysuit in Poppy/Melange Green/Raspberry. Oh my goodness gracious me, this is the perfect colour combo for spring! I didn't see this one in the store, and it looks to be almost completely sold out online. Still worth a mention though! Just imagining it with the chiffon pants... omgomgomg.

What are you coveting from American Apparel? Or any store, really.

How to Get Your Head in the Game for Midterms - Let's Kick Anxiety's Ass!!!

Midterm season is upon us and I for one am freaking the duck out!!!

Exams always make me crazy anxious, and I know I'm not the only one who gets this way... Judging by my friends' frantic "Wish me luck!" text messages and their "Cram-o-rama time" status updates on Facebook, I'm not alone and neither are you!

I bet you're reading this thinking that I'm going to tell you to "study harder" and "avoid all-nighters", all that "La Di Da" self-help advice those hard-working study whores'll give ya.

Nahhhh.

I'm not here to tell you HOW to study. I'm here to help you deal with the super awful "my stomach's in my chest, I'm choking on my own breath, and it feels like someone is wringing out my lungs" kind of feeling that you experience when you think you're absolutely doomed to fail. Which you probably aren't. You were smart enough to seek help with your anxiety, so obviously you're not a total lost cause, yeah?

Cool.

And now, in no particular order...

What to Do the Day/Night before, and the Morning of, Your Test/Midterm/Exam to Chill Out:

First time using my nail art brushes. Don't judge!

NAIL YOUR NAILS

I'm totally serious. I don't know what it is, but taking the time to "Zen Out" and paint my nails some funky colour with an equally funky fresh design really helps me get over my anxiety. So take a break from studying and primp yourself. Plus, when you write your exam you'll have gorgeous nails to look at - a great pick me up! Choose colours and designs that inspire you. I love doing a bold red nail. It makes me feel fierce, like I'm ready to pounce on my exams! Meow.

A TO Zzzzzzz...

Get some rest before your exam. You'll feel (and look!) a lot better come test-time when you can wake up and not feel icky, sick, or worried that you're too tired to remember anything. Try to aim for at least six hours to ensure you're not just taking a long nap.

AVOID BEING ALARMED BY ALARMS

Set multiple alarms for about 2 hours before your exam, so you don't have to freak out about being late or not having enough time to review/get ready in the morning. When I get up 2 hours early, I spend the first hour just totally de-stressing and getting ready, meaning dressing up, doin' ma hurr, and preparin' noms. I spend the next hour commuting to school and reviewing my notes, ensuring that I arrive early and am not tripping into the exam room 25 minutes late, doomed to be on the receiving end of everyone's "you wrecked my focus!" glares for the rest of the exam.

CRAM IT, "CRAM CASUAL"

Pick your outfit out the night before, so you're not scrambling last minute trying to find your "lucky" shirt/socks/panties. I like to avoid the sweatpants, sweatshirt, half-assed ponytail combo. I feel like it drags me down even more when I look in the mirror and look like I just gave up on myself. Just because you don't have class and you have to do a test doesn't mean you have to give up! Think about it this way: you're normally sitting in class for up-to 3 hours anyway, so what's the difference when it comes to sitting for an exam? I'd rather own my outfit, and reap the benefits of the confidence provided by said cute outfit, than wallow in my depressing sweatpants that I've been exam-cramming in for the last week.  Look good = Feel good!

PREP YOUR PENCILS

Another thing you can do the night before to ensure you're not freaking on your "big day" is organizing your pencil case. Technically, we're not allowed to bring a pencil case to our exams, so in this case I'm referring to your makeshift "Ziplock bag pencil case". Get multiple pencils, pens, erasers, highlighters, and other necessary tools (calculator, crib sheet, extra sheets of lined/plain paper for rough work, textbook, pencil sharpener, etc.) packed up beforehand. That way, if you are low on pencils, you'll have time in the morning to pick some up or source some from your local pencil pusher.

Pro tip: If you're bringing a calculator, double-check the batteries. If you're unsure what their juice level is, either replace them before your test, or bring extra batteries. Also, make sure those extra batteries aren't on the verge of dying. It's happened.

TEA-BAG THAT TEST

What better way to start the morning than with a calming cup of tea? Just make sure it's of the non-drowsy variety and try to avoid caffeine because I'm sure you're only just coming down from last night's Red Bull high. One of my favourite mojo-maxing teas is Tetley's Mojito Herbal Tea. I love to mix in a little bit of lemon and honey, and since it's caffeine-free, I'm not crashing during my exam. Score.

BREAKFAST IS YOUR BEST FRIEND

So I tend to avoid this crucial meal on a daily basis (not on purpose, I'm just usually not very hungry in the mornings), but I insist on consuming a lovely spread before any examination. Not only will food give you the energy you need to focus during your test, you have to consider the fact that your test could drag on for quite awhile, meaning you won't get to eat for quite awhile. And stomach grumbling during test-induced silence is not a fun experience. So crack those eggs, and whip up a quick omelette! One of my favourite pre-test breakfasts consists of a mushroom, chicken bacon, and red pepper omelette, with a side of toasted bread and plain yogurt. If I don't have enough time to sit and eat, I just wedge the omelette between two slices of toast, wrap it in some paper towel, and voila - homemade breakfast sandwich to go!

What are your fave tips for taking a tip-top test?  Comment below!

Eternal wishes of luck,

Outfit of the Day: My First Day of School Outfit Part I

Alright, so I FINALLY settled on my outfit for the first day of class, granted it was kind of a pointless endeavour since my class was in an AMC theatre, meaning it's dark so I'm really not showing off much. I braided my hair last night to get lovely waves for today, but it turned out more crimped than curly... I can deal.

I kept it casual, sophisticated, and simple. I decided to wear pink, not only because it's my favourite colour, but I felt that this particular shade would help me stand out and make me seem more pleasant and approachable.

Also, please note that I STILL need a new backpack...

Gucci: Sunglasses Model GG 2517/S

Theyskens Theory: Cashu Fiola Dress

Tiffany & Co: Atlas Cube Sterling Silver Necklace

Michael Kors: Mid-Size Rose Golden Stainless Steel Parker Chronograph Glitz Watch

Michael by Michael Kors: Gray Bromley Python-Embossed Flat Boot in Slate

MAC: Girl About Town Lipstick
(IMG Source: http://thefabulousgiver.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/girl.jpg)

What do you think about my first day look? 1 outfit down, 3 more to go!

Update: I've already made a new friend in my first class! Funniest thing is, we apparently used to go to the same high school, we just never hung out (until now haha). Small world!

First Day of School Style

You know, you high-schoolers have it easy. You elementary school kids too. University and College students have the hardest first week of school possible.

Know why?

Because we potentially have up to 6 days of different classes in a row. In my case, 4 days.

Can you imagine having to meticulously plan out four fashionable and fab first day first impressions?

It's freaking me out.

I mean, should I still be rocking a summer style, or have we made an early transition into fall with the whole first day of school, it's finally September sitch?

Do I dare to bring out my most eccentric pieces; to stand out among the crowd of fifty to five hundred faces? Or do I do my best to blend in to avoid that one teacher who will simply pick on you just because you stand out?

Help?

My schedule for this semester consists of: Finance, Economics, French, Marketing, Psychology, and Human Resources. Kind of bummed that I'm taking Marketing online, but it was the only way to A) Avoid having classes on Wednesdays, and B) Get the best possible prof.

So, I need to figure out my outfits for tomorrow, Thursday, Friday, and next Monday (today's a holiday, so my first day of class is getting pushed to next week).

It ain't gonna be easy, and I haven't really done any back-to-school shopping because I've been pretty broke after final clearance. Ah well, I'll make do.

Some of the many of pieces for Back-to-School that I totally covet:

Silence + Noise - French Hip Hop Maxi Dress (Perfect for French class, non?)

American Apparel - Leather T-Shirt (I would buy one in every colour if I could)

Danier - Style # 104030555 (This is that classic jacket that will make your outfit)

Brian Lichtenberg - Black Feline Baseball Cap with Gold Embroidery
(This would be the be all and end all of my hat collection, I swear)

Silence + Noise - High-Rise Pull-On Skinny Pant
(That comfy pant that you can just slip on with anything and look awesome)

Nasty Gal - Hieroglyph Ankh Earrings (Just so much love for these, I don't even...)

Somedays Lovin' - Cobra Kimono (Make a ssssstatement)

Wildfox - EXCLUSIVE Gold Sparkle Heart
(Two of fall's trendiest colours side-by-side, love it)

T By Alexander Wang - Supima Jersey Leather Pocket Tee
(Comfy and versatile, what more could a girl ask for?)

I've decided that I'm just gonna "do me" in terms of my look, and review all of the course content before my first day(s) of class. I'll be fashionable, and knowledgeable - standing out for all the right reasons.

Cannot get this out of my head...

I hope you have a fashionable first day!

Street Style Trend: Taking the Casual out of Flannel

Alright, I'll admit it, I've never been a big fan of flannel shirts, or really, flannel anything. I always found it too awkwardly casual to wear and associated them with all of those high school skateboarders, vagabonds, and people who somehow decided that wearing flannel pyjamas in public was a cool thing to do (I know, I'm terrible).  Lookbook, as life-changing as we all know it is, has totally changed my mind. In this cold weather we've been experiencing, flannel would make a welcome addition to my closet!

A great way to wear flannel shirts without seeming too casual- LAYERING.

My go-to Lookbook examples:

Under a cute blazer:

http://lookbook.nu/look/4472613-Tartan-Tartan

Super chill under a baggy crew neck sweater:

http://lookbook.nu/look/4471723-red-plaid-shirt

Pair flannel with a chunky knit for a look worthy of blogging about, hah:

Take life with a grain of salt, and your flannel with a t-shirt:

Alright, so now I know HOW to wear flannel, but where the hell am I going to FIND some?

A few places that came to mind: Hollister, Abercrombie and Fitch, American Apparel, Forever 21 and Urban Outfitters.

This navy check is seriously growing on me, on sale:

Street Style Trend: Camouflage

Been spending too much time on Lookbook recently, totally inspired by all the amazing street style porn this site has to offer. I've also been skimming over Spring/Summer 2013 trends.

Clearly, 90's is being revived yet again in 2013. No worries, totes my fave era- 90's girl, woot woot.

For the SS13 we're seeing neons (yet again), fun digital prints, as well as *gasp* overalls (still not sure how to pull these off)! The bright colours will make the transition from cold to warm that much more exciting (And I'm just glad I don't have to toss out all my neon from last summer, tee hee).

On Lookbook, there's been a LOT of dark, 90's reminiscing styles, whose colour palate seems to mesh well with this year's gloomy, albeit not incredibly cold, winter months. Colours like "oxblood", black, forest green, and plum are very popular, especially for the cold climate crowd.  Those lucky enough to be in L.A. are rocking denim to the max. The grungiest of accessorizing I've noticed, however, has been camo print. Every other person has something camouflage-printed, whether it be a military camo-print shirt, to camo pants, and even iPhone cases.

To catch up to the current street style gods, I went out and purchased a camouflage sweater from Urban Outfitters featuring some rad mystical Virgin Mary interpretation graphic printed on it.  On sale for $19.99, it was a steal! I also lucked out at Winners and got a make-up set featuring black nail polish and lipstick from Wet-N-Wild for only $5.00.  Thankfully, I almost fit into my bf's clothes, so I've been stealing his dog-tag necklace and super old camo-printed cargo pants (I give a new meaning to "boyfriend jeans", honestly). I'm ready to rock, and you can too!
For a student on a budget, there are actually quite a few camouflage options that may be on sale, considering it was also a bit of a trend in Fall 2012.

Going through some of my go-to stores and sites, I've narrowed down some inspirational options!

Comfy, easy to accessorize, t-shirt:

Look super sharp for school with Herschel (Consider it a back to school, second semester splurge, totally excusable):

If this great variety of affordable items from H&M doesn't do it, I don't know what will:

I totally recommend taking your hunt to Thrift Stores and Vintage Shops, or even surplus stores to score this trend! There's a place in Toronto on Queen St. called "The Black Market", and they had a huge rack FILLED with camo shirts for only $10!  A perfect layering item for the grunge look!

Most importantly, have fun!
